This installation enacts a magical post-cleanup scene, forming a montage of bustling cleaning gestures. A motorized cleaning-hand sculpture suspended in the air and five wood engravings on the walls choreograph a narrative of labor. Through this effort, “sparkles” made out of aluminum alloy pop across the space, bringing the virtual special effects of cleanliness from cartoons into tangible reality. In the corner, a curved wooden broom—modeled after the enchanted tool in Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice—slumps in exhaustion, its bucket toppled aside.

Blending humor with melancholy, this project blurs the line between fantasy and reality. It reflects on the intimate tensions between satisfaction and anxiety in personal sanitation while contemplating the broader systemic pressures and invisible labor of cleaning in public life.
